Los Angeles Walk for Lupus Now
Los Angeles Walk For Lupus Now
The Los Angeles Walk for Lupus Now was held on September 12th at Exposition Park.1200 walkers came together to raise nearly $110,000 to support the programs and services of the Lupus Foundation of America. Many of our valuable supporters were unable to be there to walk with us. Therefore, we have created our first-ever Virtual Walk for Lupus Now Walking in Spirit! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to provide additional support for the Foundation’s services, that are so critically needed. Please help us reach our goal by joining our Walking in Spirit Team by clicking on this link: http://donate.lupus.org/goto/walkinginspirit
It is estimated that 1.5 million Americans and 170,000 in the state of California have a form of lupus. Lupus is an acute and chronic (lifelong) autoimmune disease in which the immune system is unbalanced, causing inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body. November 2008 marked 50 years since a drug has been approved for the treatment of lupus. There is hope on the horizon, and with your help we can find better treatments and a cure for lupus.
Making a difference starts with one step. |
