Walk for Lupus Now is a family-friendly event that raises funds to support the programs and services of the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA). The Northern California Walk for Lupus Now will take place on October 24, 2010 at The Music Concourse, Golden Gate Park, 50 Tea Garden Drive, (at Concourse Drive). Parking is available in the Music Concourse garage entrance at 10th Avenue & Fulton Street. Check in is at 9:00 AM, the walk begins at 10:00 AM. The Walk consists of 3 mile and 1 mile routes.
Walkers are asked to check in between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.; the Walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. and closing activities will take place at 11:15 a.m. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, suitable for the weather. Refreshments will be provided.
Day of event schedule:
9:00 a.m. – Walker check in opens
9:30 a.m. – Program begins
10:00 a.m. – Walk begins!
11:15 a.m. – Entertainment
11:45 a.m. – Closing remarks
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, suitable for the weather. Refreshments will be provided.
Walker Prizes
Individual walkers who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative Walk for Lupus Now T-shirt. Additional prizes, listed below, will be awarded to individuals who raise $250 or more. These prizes are in addition to the event T-shirt, are not cumulative, and are based on funds raised online, mailed in, or brought to the event. Event T-shirts and prizes will be distributed at the event. Please note that these individual prizes are based on individual (not team) fundraising totals.
Individuals who raise and turn in the following on or by October 24, 2010 will receive:
$100 – Walk for Lupus Now event T-shirt
$250 – Walk for Lupus Now long sleeved T-shirt or umbrella
$500 – Walk for Lupus Now stadium blanket
$1,000 – Walk for Lupus Now black front zipper jacket
$2,500 – any two of the above prizes
$5,000 – any three of the above prizes
Team Prize
Teams that raise and turn in $5,000 on or by October 10, 2010 will receive a team tent, where your team can meet to enjoy the event!
